Ferringhi Garden @ Batu Ferringhi, Penang

This day, I had a sudden happy mood and would love to treat my mum for a better pleasant meal without thinking much on prices. I knew a fancy place for western dining in Batu Ferringhi since last year when my brother mentioned it. I have waited long to go for a try, yet no chance until now. This day, we were a bit earlier for dinner just to view the different environment between day and night.

When we first stepped into the place, we were "woah!" and thought how "forestal" is this place. Ferringhi Garden has a spacious private car park behind the restaurant, which need to turn into a small road beside the shop row. Ferringhi Garden is well decorated with natural plants and we can see how diligent the owner manage this restaurant.

The outdoor space, we reached at about 5pm and no customers spotted yet

They have a small koi pond and waterfall, what a beautiful environment they have! But we didn't sit here because afraid of mosquito~

We chose a less garden plants seat because we expected less mosquito here

I enjoyed dining with my most loved~

I love their oil lamp, simple and nice~

Besides beautiful oil lamp, every table is adorned with fresh flower too~

Since the night had not fallen yet, we decided to have a starter to slowly spend our precious time here

We had Penang's Seafood Pizza as starter (RM28.80) - A seafearer's choice of squid, prawns and fish fillet
Seafood was fresh, tomato puree was full with fresh tomato chunks, pizza bread was thin and crunchy, worth to try!

As a coffee addict, mum had a cup of Cafe Mocha (RM10.90) - Espresso based coffee with chocolate frothed milk

Time passed in chatter, and the restaurant turned into a romantic scenery during the night

Mum likes the environment here too

Then we started our second round of food, Ferringhi Garden Garlic & Tomato Loaf (RM10.80) - Special homemade bread grilled over hot coal served with roasted garlic aioli and roasted tomato salsa
I love the bread here, so spongy and soft, most importantly it doesn't stick on teeth! Even without the dip, the bread does taste perfectly~ But I still love the tomato salsa dip, while the aioli just like a thick mayonnaise which failed to capture my appetite

Yummy~

Norwegian Seafood Soup (RM30.80) - Salmon cube, king prawns, squid and green mussels sauteed in Saffron enriched butter and freshly chopped herbs with light cream
Don't be surprised with the serving, the bowl is big but shallow! Taste sourish and a bit like creamy tom yam,  weird at first but tasty afterwards. Again seafood was so fresh and not overly cooked!

Main courses of the night, Char Grilled Salmon (RM53.80) and Chicken & Steak Combo (RM65.80)

Chilled air-flown Norwegian salmon fillet grilled over live coals, served with freshly tossed salad and baby potatoes
Thick cut salmon was fresh, but nothing special from other western restaurant like Chilis or TGIF, not an impressive one

Succulently grilled chicken coupled with broiled juicy steak served on a bed of roasted potatoes
Steak here was awesome, tender and juicy, sauce was yummy and everything just done to perfection. But this is not the case to the chicken. The grilled chicken had bad smell, I guess the chicken was not fresh, or not marinated enough.

Award by Tripadvisor, another symbol as tourist business, which means price may be a bit higher
